Mr. Schlegel joined WDG Architecture in 1995. Prior to this he served as a Project Architect for several other firms where he developed considerable expertise working on a variety of new construction project types, including mixed-use, industrial, commercial, retail and assembly occupancies. Moreover, he has worked on the repair, alteration, addition and renovation of many existing structures, a number of which required the preparation of submissions to the National Capitol Planning Commission and the Commission of Fine Arts.
Mr. Schlegel has also served as a Technical Coordinator, bearing responsibility for the preparation of construction documents and the coordination of consultant work, shop drawing reviews and on-site inspections in order to ensure the timely completion of multi-phased projects. In performing site surveys he has prepared recommendations for achieving ADA and jurisdictional code compliance.
Mr. Schlegel has been instrumental in initiating sustainable design ideals into several projects, assembling the necessary teams, and utilizing the LEED rating system to measure and implement goals.
