2100 Penn (2100 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) is adjacent to The George Washington University’s Foggy Bottom Campus and located in a site bounded by Pennsylvania Avenue NW, 21st Street NW, and Eye Street NW. The goal was to construct a signature trophy office building with a distinctive and special identity. The building is comprised of two wings, one each on Pennsylvania Avenue and Eye Street, connected by a ten-story atrium with a glass skylight and end wall. The entrance faces a park on 21st Street, resulting in an enhanced presence traveling west on Pennsylvania Avenue. The majority of the ground-floor retail space is located on Eye Street, with the aim of providing shopping and dining focused on the GWU community. Rooftop amenities include interior meeting spaces as well as outdoor terraces. The building has achieved LEED Gold certification.
The development is a public-private partnership between Boston Properties and The George Washington University, which owns the land. WDG is Executive Architect, in collaboration with design architect Pelli Clarke & Partners.
12-story building with 460,000-sf office space, 30,000-sf ground floor retail, and 3 floors of below-grade parking with 330 spaces.
