WDG’s Project Architect Meimaneh Gharavi was on-hand to greet DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, several Council Members, and the Ward 8 community on Saturday, June 4th. The Well at Oxon Run is an intergenerational farm and wellness space in the Congress Heights neighborhood in Southeast DC. Mayor Bowser touted “Wellness, Community, Gathering, and Healing at this beautiful farm. We know that healthy food leads to healthy people and healthy outcomes for DC residents.” WDG teamed up with SHoP Architects for this Pro Bono effort on a one-acre site featuring crops, gardening, a greenhouse, an orchard with chickens, and outdoor classrooms. Come tour the urban farm on Thursdays from 2:00pm-4:00pm at 300 Valley Avenue SE.
Team members include: DC Greens, SHoP Architects, SK&A Structural Engineers, Bowman Consulting, PEPCO, Earth-Bound Building, DC DPR, Eclipse Engineering, GHT Limited, MCN Build, and MLG Construction Management.
